Meagan Whiteley for featured my Brooklyn Bridge on a Nickel necklace in her groovy blog, Fancy Island.
As part of the {New New} Etsy street team, I participated in the Sampler’s table at the MTV Movie Awards Style Lounge. I’m not sure which glitterati got their hands on the nickel neckalces, rings, and wabisabi brooklyn special giveaway totes that I contributed, but I don’t be surprised if you see Dina Lohan’s assistant rocking some wabisabi bling in the near future!
Got a mention in Only the Blog Knows Brooklyn today! Almost makes my Brooklyn Flea-earned sore throat seem worth it!
Sketchygirl looks fantastic in her wabisabi brooklyn necklace! Her website is lots of fun. Her categories are right up my alley:

I am thrilled and delighted to be this month’s Brooklyn Indie Market featured designer!
I am finally done feeling dizzy from the excitement of getting an email from a Martha Stewart Magazine staffer yesterday. It seems in working on a wedding story, she Googled “Brooklyn Cufflinks,” (try it!) and got to a post I wrote in summer 2007 about cufflinks.
So she is sending a messenger to my day job tomorrow to pick up a package to photograph.
Needless to say, I rushed home after work yesterday and started a batch of fresh cuff links to choose from.
TONIGHT: The finishing touches, packaging, and product selection. And perhaps a quick re-write of the press release!
Pictures to follow…
UPDATE
Here are some pics of what I sent. For more, go to my flickr page.
Leslie at Bauble and Chain was kind enough to write about today’s”Be Your Own Valentine,” event at Camp.
In other news, Time Out New York also wrote about the event. We had a great time and hope you did too!
Corris Little at Newsday gave us an early valentine by mentioning this Sunday’s Brooklyn Indie Market event at Camp Lounge: “BE YOURS: Be Your Own Valentine.” Bring a friend, have a cocktail, and pick up something for that special someone –YOU!
Camp Lounge is at 179 Smith Street between Warren and Wyckoff in Brooklyn, NY.
I just came across this article from early December in the Storque, where Melanie from ai ai gasa was the featured buyer and gave us some love.

The Sampler rocks. Read our interview here.
I remember making these earrings and am so glad that Heather, who received them in the September Sampler, is a big fan.
Check out SF Indie Fashion, who received the one of a kind wabisabi brooklyn candle/coin necklace in their October Sampler. (Spoiler: They liked it!)
Soozs in Melbourne, Australia liked the wabisabi brooklyn necklace in her October Sampler. Yeay!
Natalie at the Craftzine blog listed the wabisabi brooklyn necklace she received in her September Sampler as a favorite. You can read her whole post here.
I had the honor of talking to Diane of CraftyPod a few weeks ago. The interview is part of her latest Craftypreneur round up along with Lisa of FetoSoap and Aida of Two Busy Bees.
The indie shopping blog Modish had some lovely things to say about the wabisabi brooklyn necklace in their Sampler package.
We got a little love from Rare Bird Finds when they opened their Spetember Sampler. Hurray!
Lot’s of news today.
First, Diane from CraftyPod interviewed me for the September 21 show. I am a big fan of CraftyPod and was really excited to talk to Diane.
Next, I brought Tom at Mongo more of our cuff links. I asked him for the story behind the shop’s name, and he told me the NYC Sanitation Department refers to the good stuff people throw away as “mongo”. He talked about how finding the beauty and usefulness in what someone else might discard (he pointed out a couple of gorgeous fixtures in the shop that he rescued to illustrate his point) is to him the essence of Brooklyn life. Word.
As if that weren’t enough excitement for one day, I headed over to the fabulous artez’n where Jessica was excited about the cufflinks, the nickel necklaces, and the penny earrings. She remarked about the steep learning curve we’d climbed in just three short months, as evidenced by our finer finishes and more professional looking pieces.
There is a lovely write up about wabisabi brooklyn on the Etsy Trashion Blog . We are, of course, pleased as punch both about the interview and about being members of the Etsy Trashion Street team. Go Trashion!
Dino Ray Ramos had some very nice things to say about wabisabi brooklyn the other day in his column “Dressed”. We are beside ourselves with delight!
The Sampler is just the gift that keeps on giving. Both Diane at CraftyPod and Jen at Indie Fixx gave us a shout on their sites. Hooray!
In other good news, a selection of wabisabi brooklyn jewelry will be available at the new boutique – called MONGO – that just opened at 246 Smith Street near Degraw in Brooklyn.
Hurray!
